“The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight.”
Proverbs 11:1
“Accuracy is the twin brother to honesty; in-accuracy to dishonesty.”
Nathaniel Hawthorne
Years ago, I spoke a few minutes at the Wisdom Center in Dallas, Texas for my spiritual Father, Dr. Mike Murdock. I was terrified mind you! I sat down beside Dr. Mike when I had finished and was waiting for his approval of what I had said. Instead of a pat on the back, Dr. Mike leaned over and said these words, “Son, labor for accuracy…!”
I can’t tell you that I was elated with this information. I was wounded and I felt hurt, but then I realized that the sign of a true mentor is correction. I now realize that this information has taught me to be more precise in my study and delivery of what I say.
Labor for accuracy in everything you do. Be accurate in your words. Be accurate when answering a question. I get frustrated when I ask those who work for me a question and they quickly give me an answer, yet, when I ask if they are sure, they say “No.” Don’t tell me what I want to hear; answer the question! If you are not sure, do your homework! When you do, you will give a more accurate answer.
